MISSION STATEMENT
Reiki Healing Center was founded in September of 2006 by Myra Reichel, Karuna Reiki (R) & Usui Reiki Master Teacher, and Master Teacher of Magnified Healing (R), to serve as a place for adults and children to learn about the power of Reiki (spiritually guided life force energy) for healing and relaxation of the body, mind, emotions, and spirit. Clients can receive or as students they can learn how to transmit Reiki Universal Healing Energy for their own healing, as well to heal other people, animals, plants, and the world itself.

The Center is a place where those in need of physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual relief from dis-ease can start their path to wellness, abundance, and prosperity. RHC is handicapped accessible; no stairs, take elevator to the 3rd fl. Discounts available of 10% for each of the following: seniors, students, disabled, unemployed, low-income, chronically ill, or currently undergoing cancer treatments.

Sliding Scale Clinic is available on Thursday. Other clinics, share times, & healing circles are available for those Reiki Masters, Practitioners, students, and anyone else needing assistance.

NEW for Massage Therapist and Bodyworkers: CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS NOW AVAILABLE through National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodyworkers NCBTMB for all classes taught at the RHC or by its teachers.

You receive a $50 referral credit if you get someone else to sign up. Private Reiki classes at additional dates/times may be scheduled for an additional $25 per time class meets. If you‘ve taken a Reiki class already with a RHC instructor or with a teacher from another center but you feel you would like a review; you can audit any level that you have already for $50 per day in a class that is being taught – if you attend the 12 hours of the entire class you will receive a certificate from the RHC.

You can get student liability insurance for $65 per year or Practitioner Insurance for $200 through the ABMP and Professional Membership and Insurance can be obtained through the IARP.

INTRO TO REIKI for People, Plants, Animals, and the Planet – at the RHC FREE on 2nd Saturdays: By appointment $25 ½ hour: or at your location 2-hours by appointment: $120 for up to 6 people includes mini-Reiki sessions.

REIKI I - 12 hours. Adults $300, Senior or under 18 $275, Disabled $210. Children under 12: $200 8 hr class; You will be able to do Reiki for yourself after 4 hours and others after 12 hours of classes.

Classes usually start the first Saturday or Sunday in each month and one weekday per month –

Myra will be away July 3rd to 12th so other teachers will be offering classes during these dates.

REIKI for ANIMALS – Once you have your basic Reiki I training and/or after your Reiki II training you can take a 1 hour or longer class to go over tips for doing Reiki for animals. Cost: $50 per hour at the RHC or $75 per hour if you bring your pet. COST: $102 per hour includes class plus doing Reiki for animals at your location within 20 miles.

REIKI II - 12 hours. Scheduled Class: Adults $300, Senior or under 18 $275, Disabled $210.

ADVANCED PRACTICE REIKI PRACTITIONER - 12 hours. $365 includes student insurance or workbook if you already have insurance. Receive you Master Symbol, learn Chakra Meditation, and work with pendulum. HOLISTIC PRACTITIONER/REIKI MASTER PRACTITIONER (RMP) 12 hours $300 if you have Reiki Master Symbol Reiki Master Practitioner Certificate given with additional work otherwise, Holistic Practitioner Certificate given: business course – taxes, client paperwork, advertising, & professional development.

REIKI MASTER TEACHER RMT takes over a year to complete. ($100 per month for 13 months) or ($200 per month for 6 months) or ($1150 one-time payment) Total 124 classroom hours plus 30-50 additional hours of outside requirements. Includes 6 2-hour Meetings, Reiki Master Teacher 12 hour Workshop learning attunement process, 100 hours audit and student teach Intro through RMP. Paperwork from 10 clients plus 2 paid clients.

Practice at 2 Shares, 2 Events, 2 Clinic, etc. This is a wonderful learning experience that leaves you ready to teach Reiki classes. For those starting their training their first meeting will be held June 7th (or another date to be scheduled) at 1pm and for those completing their training final class is scheduled Sunday, June 7th 2-6pm. KARUNA REIKI® developed by a group of Reiki Masters. You receive an Institute for Reiki Training Certificate signed by William Lee Rand. New requirements You can take it 6 months after Reiki Master Symbol attunement.

• Karuna Reiki® II - 6 hours by appointment (must have Karuna Reiki® I already) Cost: $250.
• Audit the same level as a class you have your certificate: Cost $50 per level being taught)
• Karuna Reiki ® Master (If you already have Karuna I & II and you already teach Reiki – you can review and learn how to do attunements) $300. If you have not taken Karuna Reiki® I, II then you need to take all 3 levels and review classes by appointment. Cost: $750

• Magnified Healing® Phase I: 2 days, 8-10 hrs total. You can teach this class 11 days after completion. By appt. at Sarah Hohenberger’s off City Line and Montgomery Aves, at the Reiki Healing Center or at your location for 3 or more students Cost: $188. If you already have your certificate and want a review $50.
• Magnified Healing Celebration® Phase II: total 7-8 hrs 4 hours class plus Celebration Sun March 22nd, 2009. Pre-requisite Magnified Healing® Phase I. You can teach this class after 4 hours of class and participating in Celebration. Cost: $111. If you do not want to teach this level but wish to take a class $75. Participation in Celebration plus additional $50 will give you certificate to teach this level and run celebrations.
• Magnified Healing® Phase III: 2 days, 8-10 hrs. Light Worker. Pre-requisite 4 months plus 11 days daily practice of Phase I prior to workshop. Taught by: Sarah Hohenberger 215-877-0430.

Nurses reply to Catholic Bishops

Holistic nurses group responds to Catholic bishops: 'Denying Reiki is unethical' Is it ethical to deny Reiki treatment? Or to prevent a nurse from administering Reiki? The American Holistic Nurses Association says no, in a statement issued in response to last month's new guidelines from the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops denouncing Reiki and calling it "inappropriate for Catholic institutions." Since then, Reiki programs at some Catholic health-care facilities have been discontinued.The AHNA points out that "the practice of holistic nursing is not subject to regulation by religious organizations such as the Catholic Church."Further, it is important to understand that any person, organization, or institution denying a patient Reiki or prohibiting a nurse from administering Reiki violates the ethical principles of patient and nurse autonomy."The AHNA statement quotes Midge Murphy, JD, PhD, a professional liability risk management consultant:"One of the essential core principles of health care ethics is respect for patient autonomy. Autonomy refers to the patient's self-rule and the opportunity to make meaningful choices. . . Disrespecting autonomy means ignoring, insulting, or demeaning those choices by not honoring the decisions and preferences of the patient . . . The [Catholic bishops'] Guidelines in effect would violate the ethical principle of patient autonomy because the Guidelines would deny a patient in a Catholic hospital or health care facility the right to choose Reiki as part of the patient's treatment plan." The statement goes on to point out that the bishops' guidelines also conflict with the AHNA's Standards and Scope of Practice. It also cites five studies "that support the efficacy of Reiki in reducing anxiety, reducing pain, facilitating wound healing, creating a sense of well being, increasing hemoglobin levels, and decreasing free radicals." The AHNA statement concedes that "studies involving Reiki are not conclusive and the exact mechanism in which Reiki healing occurs is unknown. . . "Not all natural phenomena are understood by science -- new discoveries are first ridiculed, then argued against, then accepted as obvious," the statement concludes.Many thanks to holistic nurse and Reiki Master Teacher Lilia V.
