1 – 1:30 PM  An Introduction to Acupuncture  and Reiki -Learn how Acupuncture helps to heal the Body, Mind and Spirit and may also complement Western medicine.  Learn how Reiki helps to reduce stress and promotes relaxation which activates the body’s own inner wisdom.

1:30 – 2:00 PM – Healing with Drumming and Percussion – Tap into your inner spirit through the Drum and Percussion instruments. 

Presenter: Doc Gibbs:  One of the most sought after percussionists in the music industry today, most recently seen as the musical director playing and “kickin’ it” with Emeril Legasse on cable. He has played for Anita Baker, Bob James (on the theme song for “Taxi”) and more recently, Wyclef Jean and Nancy Wilson.  He has recently created the “Healing Sound Bath,” which uses a variety of percussion instruments to create an experience that promotes relaxation, stress relief, balances both hemispheres of the brain, and encourages healing.

2:00 - 4PM –Experience the “Healing Sound Bath” along with Community  Acupuncture and Mini Reiki Sessions. Relax and receive acupuncture which helps build your immunity, lowers blood pressure, and reduces pain– De-stress and receive Reiki which helps to remove stagnant emotions and allows positive energy to revive and repair your human energy system.(You must register in advance for both by calling 267-240-5109).

Benefits of the System of Reiki

Healing can take place on a physical, mental, emotional or spiritual level.

Each of these levels will be affected by working energetically with Reiki. A change in one level will affect the functioning or another level. In this sense it can be understood how the system of Reiki is holistic. Sometimes the changes may be subtle and yet major shifts are known to occur.

Physically the body will respond where there is pain or illness. Mentally or emotionally, calm and quiet can be restored to our lives leaving us feeling balanced. Once we feel calm our sense of spiritual connection and purpose in life is returned. From this energized place we begin to feel physically strong and the cycle continues.

Reiki Treatments

A Reiki treatment is one-hour long and is useful for specific healing or general relaxation. This is the perfect way to spoil yourself!

The treatments are individually tailored to the client's needs and condition. The practitioner rests his hands for a few minutes on specific areas of the body (head, torso, legs and back) allowing the energy to pass through into the client.

The client remains fully clothed at all times and may experience different bodily sensations. Some feel the 'electricity' passing through various limbs or tingling or warm sensations, some smell scents, see visions, some feel as if they have reverted to the safety of the womb and some just fall asleep. Whatever you might feel these are merely side effects of the healing process and it is best to enter a treatment with no expectations.
